Sassafras began in 2023 when Virgil, Brent & Kamden gathered in a cozy living room to swap songs they grew up with — and Sassafras! was born.
The core of the band is still Virgil Cater percussion, Kamden Flowers vocals, and Brent Hample acoustic-electric guitar/vocals.
The band started as a trio, but prefers to play as a quartet, especially for larger venues.
